Alicante & Costa Blanca
Situated on the east coast of Spain, the Costa Blanca ("white coast") is one of the most beautiful regions of the
entire Iberian Peninsula.
As one of the sunniest Costas - it usually shines 300+ days a year - the region enjoys average temperatures of 18-19C
and is regarded by many as having one of the healthiest climates in the world.
There are endless miles of beautiful sandy beaches stretching from the cosmopolitan town of Denia in the north to
the popular resort of Torrevieja in the south.
Northern Costa Blanca is mountainous, relatively green and peppered with orange groves, olive trees and colourful
almond and cherry orchards.
By contrast, southern Costa Blanca is flatter and is famous for having the largest palm gardens and salt flats in
Europe.
The city of Alicante is the capital of the region. It offers visitors a wealth of cultural activities and fine
beaches. Torrevieja is located at the extreme south of the region and offers beautiful sandy beaches, historic sites
and a huge variety of Spanish and international restaurants.
Flying time to/from Alicante/Murcia/London is approximately two and a half hours.
